This is a totally new format... So hopefully this goes where it is supposed to go. First of all... fire is dangerous. I do fire tricks regularly behind the bar.. but I have been doing it for years, and I still burn myself occasionally.

The main trick that will get people going is the "blowing fire" trick. Basically, you make a wick out of a napkin. Shove it in an empty bottle of juice, or a flair bottle (nothing with alchohol) You put a little 151 on it, light it, take a mouthfull of 151 an blow it over the flame.

First of all... its a stupid thing to do. You will more than likely break laws if you do it where you work. Dont Do it.

IF you ignore what I have said and want to go for it... at least practice at home with water either in the yard, or in your shower by "mist-ing" the liquid out of your mouth at high velocity. The mist will burn. Liquor spurting out of your mouth in a stream will not. You want the velocity to insure the fire does not crawl back up the spray and light your face on fire.

Never go for more than one. You will get liquor on your face the first time, and if you try for a second flame... you will ignite your face.

If you want to play with fire... you shouldnt. I do it... but I have burned off most of the hair on my face, my bangs, and have singed my hands more than once or twice.

But if you must... make sure the only person you are endagering is yourself.
Have a fire extiguisher nearby, a whole bunch of damp bar towels, and always aim away from other people and anything that could catch fire.

Thats all I have to say about that.

Better yet, be in an open space (Like your back yard) and try flipping the bottles with the napkin shoved down the barrel. Lighter fluid is cheaper but you definitely can't do the spraying technique. Try flipping it to where you are not catching it near the fire, it will make you focus more on your catch and timing when there is a chance that you may burn yourself. The problem with fire is it's against fire code and you will get the boot unless specifically told you can. Don't do it on your own, but if you can master the technique and allowed to do it at your bar, you will get an applause no doubt about that

Good luck and be careful
