I have looked at a couple websites and provided the most usefull ones below:
http://www.webimmigration.com/?OVRAW=canada%20work%20visa&OVKEY=canada%20work%20visa&OVMTC=standard Fairly informational, though I'm not sure if they are an immigration NPO or what.

http://canadavisa.com/documents/empcanada.htm A little bit more profesionaly done, and inframtive, I beleive this website belings to a law firm.

http://www.workpermit.com/canada/canada.htm
Muchof the same info, but put togehter a little better.

Sorry I can only give you links, I don't know your particular circumstances so I can't research any deeper for you.
Good luck!!!
Jes

Jess your a star... the situation is that my gf is american and i am british, we wanna move so we can be together, and the bar seen looks 50x better than it is in the uk. i did some research and it seems i am eligable for immigration. and she of course being american and you guys having the free trade agreement canada is the best place for us to go. so if anyone feels like helping this lowly bartender be with the woman he loves give me a shout. i know i am going against all rules of being a bartender, but she is quite speacial.

thanks again Jess
Will

OK, that helps a little, but I've got another Q, Do you two intend on making Canada your permanent home, or just stay and work for a couple of years? The answer to that will help figure out what kind of Visa you need to apply for. (or perhaps citezenship might be that way to go....)

Try the third webpage I posted above, they have a free assesment for Visas if you're a citizen of the UK, (I assume your a citizen).

I'm afraid that you will have to have a job lined up before you can get the Visa, at least according to what I have read, unless you have another profession, but maybe not. That is somehting that I'm pretty unclear on.

Fill out the free form for UK residents and see what that does for you.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Jess
