Jay- OK, I had posted about this very subject a few months ago and I got a few opinions but no real answers. Since then I have done web searches, e-mailed insurance company's, checked with bartender's unions, talked to my boss and other business owners, contacted bartender's magazines and publications, spoke with an attorny and called insurance companies. None of these folks had any answers to this question. What I have come to find so far is that there is no such thing as "personal" liability insurance for bartenders. It seems that only business owners are offerred this type of coverage. Perhaps, you can go get yourself a business licence or something? This might make it possible for you to get liability insurance... I'm not sure. I am not sure what expenses this might all entail either. If you find anything out please, please post your findings here! I think it is BS that bartenders are not able to purchase individual insurance to help protect themselves from any 3rd party law-suits. Of course we have training and common sense to defend ourselves but I feel we should have the protection of insurance if we so choose. Good luck Jay- T.
