Ok, I just want to run this by you all. My cousin is trying to start a business for restraunt and bar staff. We live in a small town, but there are bars and restraunts galore within a 30 miles radius. The main point is that the clients (owners) may have problems on thier hands when an employee calls in at the last minute or something to that effect. so she plans to hire employees that are expieranced as well as trained to a number of clients ways of doing things. Therfore, the emp;oyee easily adapts to any of the different enviroments they are put in to. how do you think this will work? do you think it's a good idea, cause I think it is a wonderful idea since our family is very expeiranced in restraunt and bar managment and know how hard it can be to find a replacement on short notice. let me know your thoughts. thanks

I think it's a great idea! It would be slow to catch on at first, but so has every major success (think about when bottled water first came out--nobody wanted to pay for it when it was free out of the tap--now everyone buys it regularly). I bet a lot of owners would love to be able to hire on extra help seasonally from such a service, without having to hire more employees. I think you should go for it, and if you get such a service running in NJ, let me know, since I'm having trouble finding work on my own.
I think the main thing is that you screen your work applicants to promote a quality image to clients. Just like a temp agency, but for hospitality. And it's easier to maintain your image because it's easier to get rid of problem workers (unreliable, irresponsible) because they're hired like independent contractors instead of as employees. It's also good for the workers because they can gain the experience that they're looking for.

I think that it is a great idea. I agree that you must set a standard in people that you are recomending. If you supply staff that is of low quality then you will not be successful. You can set a standard in your area and employers will come to you before hiring someone. They will feel confident if you always have quaility employees. That is just my suggestion
