I'm 28yrs old, i've been bartending at Cheddar's for 2yrs now and i figure myself a very sociable and efficient bartender. I have a passion for bartending, i would love to bartend in Austin a high volume place. My question is there anybody out there who bartends in Austin. Craigslist seems to have a lot of jobs available. I just need some pinpointers on the best way to approach this. If I have to I will serve when I get there. I don't mind barbacking but I really want to be a bartender. Should I attend bartending school to obtain alittle more training? Also they promise job placement.

You should acquire a certification first before becoming a bartender or alcohol server in Austin, since it's a city in Texas.

Try to check http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/training_and_certification/approved_seller_training_schools_additional_names.asp for the list of providers.[/url]
